Does Etsy Show Search Volume?

Etsy does not give third-party apps shopper search counts. What eRank, EverBee, and Alura are estimating, and which NicheKite fields are measured instead.

No. Etsy does not hand me a number of searches for “linen napkin”, and I do not invent one.

The public listing API returns listing and shop fields: title, tags, price, views when Etsy includes them, favorites, and how many active listings matched a query. It does not return a shopper search count, a click-through rate, or another shop’s units sold. NicheKite’s data page lists those as dashes on purpose: How NicheKite’s data works.

What the other tools are showing

eRank, EverBee, and Alura are useful products. They also publish figures NicheKite will not copy.

  • eRank’s public marketing describes keyword trend data and search data you can save. Their pricing page, checked on 2 October 2026, sells lookups and keyword ideas. I have not seen Etsy document a search-volume field that those lookups could be reading. Treat the volume number as eRank’s, and read their plans page for what the subscription includes.
  • EverBee’s pricing page lists product analytics that include sales, revenue, and conversion rate on paid plans. Etsy does not give a third-party app another seller’s order totals through the listing endpoints we use. Those columns are EverBee’s model. Pricing checked on 2 October 2026: everbee.io/pricing.
  • Alura’s pricing page describes keyword data, competition, and sales-style research inside the extension. Same limit: if it is not an Etsy API field, it is Alura’s estimate. Pricing checked on 2 October 2026: alura.io/pricing.

I am not saying their models are useless. I am saying you should know they are models. A comparison that pretends otherwise is an ad.

What you can know for free, from Etsy

Your own shop is different. Etsy’s Offsite Ads help page tells you to read search terms that drove traffic in that dashboard and then update titles, tags, and descriptions. That is your traffic, inside Shop Manager, not a market volume API. How Etsy’s Offsite Ads Work.

For a keyword you do not rank for yet, the honest public signal is competition you can count: how many active listings match, what their titles say, and what they charge. How Etsy Search Works tells you which listing fields can match a query. It does not tell you how many people typed the query.

How I use that

  1. Search the phrase in NicheKite and read the listing count and the titles on the sample.
  2. If the count is huge and every title already says the exact phrase, I narrow the phrase. The method is how to find lower-competition niches.
  3. I write the title and tags to Etsy’s limits, not to a volume bar. See the SEO guide.
  4. I only talk about views and favorites when the API returned them. Missing views stay missing.

Google Trends or Google Ads, when they are connected, are labeled External. They are not Etsy searches. Do not add them to an “Etsy volume” column and drop the label.
