Etsy Views but No Sales
Views mean people opened the listing. Sales are a conversion problem. Etsy names photos, price, reviews, and the visit-to-order rate, not a secret penalty.

Views without orders means people reached the listing and did not buy. That is a conversion question. It is not, by itself, proof that search “penalized” the listing.
Read the stats the way Etsy defines them
How to Use Etsy Stats separates the two counts. Visits are people who looked at your shop or listings. Views are the total times listings were looked at. Their example: one shopper lands on a listing from search, then opens five other listings. That is one visit and six views.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Shop Stats defines conversion as the ratio of visits to completed orders. The same article says a good rate looks different in every shop, and that sellers should generally expect something between 1 and 5 percent. Photography, pricing, and reviews are the factors it names. It also says a low rate is not an alarm while the shop is new and traffic is still thin.
Favorites divided by views is not that ratio. NicheKite will show the save rate when both numbers came back from the API. It will not turn favorites into orders.
What Etsy says changes the click, and what changes the sale
Creating Listings That Convert says the first photo is what gets the click, and the photos after it help get the sale. That article tells you to use up to 10 photos, and that using all of them may raise conversion because each extra image answers a question. It also says shoppers see your review average in search, and that 4- and 5-star reviews help a buyer decide.
A later staff conversation, in the seller handbook, is more precise about rank: the number of photos does not directly change search placement, but more photos help people engage and then convert. The same conversation lists what influences the visit from search: first photo, title, price, shipping, and review rating.
Photo limits in Etsy’s own pages do not all match. How to Create a Listing is the page our listing checklist cites for up to 20 photos. The convert article still says 10. Use every slot the listing form offers today, put the item in the first frame, and do not treat a collage or a text overlay as the thumbnail. The convert article says to avoid both.
If the listing is getting visits and not orders, I would change the first photo, the price, or the facts at the top of the description before I rewrote the tags again. Tag and title rules still matter for being found. They are not the whole path from a view to an order. The order of that work is in the Etsy SEO guide.
